Jordin Sparks- Where She Came From – Where She’s Going

July 12th, 2011 by admin

Jordin Sparks, as her name implies, is a bubbly up and coming musical artist, model, and actress who launched her career after winning the sixth season of ‘American Idol.’ The then 17-year-old became the youngest winner in the show’s history until this year’s competition upped the ante and produced an even younger new idol.

Sparks debuted her self titled album in 2007, which produced four top 20 hits, including the single “No Air,” which she often performs with fellow singer Chris Brown. “No Air” became an instant success, as well as the top single sold by any ‘American Idol’ winner, surpassing even Chris Daughtry and Kelly Clarkson.

Jordin saw even more success with her sophmore album, “Battlefield,” in 2009. The single “S.O.S. (Let the Music Play)” became an instant hit, as well as her first number one hit song. But before ‘Idol,’ Sparks had already taken the stage with some of the biggest names in the music industry, including Alice Cooper and Christian contemporary singer Michael W. Smith. She had participated in numerous musical talent competitions and even worked as a model for Torrid’s plus size clothing line.

Since her rise to fame, Sparks has taken on several other endeavors including guest appearances on several popular kids television shows, charity work, and several world wide tours. Although she took 2010 off from touring, Jordin will also headline select shows for the NKOTBSB tour this year.
