Jordin began singing as a toddler and developed a flair for performing at an early age. Without formal vocal training, she gained recognition for her musical talents as a young teen. At thirteen she was named Coco Cola’s Rising Star and was soon winning awards in gospel music. In 2006 she won the Idol-affiliated Arizona Idol title. Her 2007 Idol audition landed her a spot in the top 12 and she was on her way to Hollywood. She captivated the fans with her charm and versatility singing R & B and pop and was voted America’s youngest Idol at seventeen.

After spending the summer touring with Idol, she released her self-titled album, which went platinum in the US and sold over two million copies worldwide. Since then she has released a second album,” Battlefield”, and has appeared in two music videos. Her singles sales have topped 9 million, making her musical career one of the most successful ever launched by Idol.

Jordin’s acting debut in Disney’s “Crossing Jordin”episode of The Suite Life on Deck was followed by a starring role in the Tony Award winning Broadway musical, “In The Heights”. Filming of her silver screen debut, “Sparkle’, begins in October.
