In the summer of 2006, no one had heard of 17-year-old Jordin Sparks. Five years later, she’s become a household name, with over nine million singles sold, a clothing line, performances on both Broadway and on television, a perfume, and nationwide tours. Jordin has performed her beautiful rendition of the National Anthem for several major televised sporting events, including the Super Bowl. She’s even performed for Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama.

Jordin auditioned several times for the sixth season of American Idol, finally earning a spot with her audition in Seattle. While she was not a frontrunner at the beginning of the show, her consistent performances and strong vocals improved throughout the season, and she garnered more and more fans as the season continued. In May of 2007, she was crowned the winner, making her the youngest American Idol in the show’s existence.

Jordin Sparks is arguably the most successful American Idol winner to date; her debut album alone had four top 20 singles, and she’s received American Music Awards and Grammy nominations. She is currently working on her much anticipated third album, of which the single “I Am Woman,” has already been released with success on Billboard charts.
